Painting the Foundation’s Building
In mid-May, three brave volunteers set off for the picturesque town of Svitavy to help paint the Josef Plíva Foundation’s building. This organization supports education, culture, and personal development. So, what was it like?
“We were welcomed with a concert by Mantrovníci, which we enjoyed late on Friday evening and during which we gathered our strength for the physically demanding Saturday ahead.
On Saturday morning, we set about clearing out the rooms and covering the furniture with plastic sheeting to protect every nook and cranny from paint splatters. And then we finally got to work painting the first room—including the ceiling, of course!
In the evening, we warmed up by the fire and roasted sausages. Sunday morning was again devoted to painting—we tackled several more rooms until we ran out of paint.
This weekend wasn’t easy, but we got a lot of work done, and the results are clear to see.”
