THEATRE CLEAN-UP AT THE BREWERY
The first weekend of 2026 is behind us!
A group of volunteers gathered at Studio ALTA in Libeň, located in the former Panský pivovar (Manor Brewery) building.
"Lída Vacková, the director, introduced us to ALTA, and we were able to explore this interesting building from the basement to the attic.
Then we eagerly set to work. Some of the volunteers began removing rubble from the basement to a prepared container, others began painting the steel structure, and some went to work in the garden. There, the volunteers cut down self-sown trees, removed debris from construction work, and raked leaves. We filled one container with rubble during the morning alone, and after lunch we filled a second one.
And because the work went so well, we also managed to lay plastic pipes in the prepared trench and bury them. Finally, we helped carry out a pile of bricks, which showed our creativity in how to simplify the work as much as possible and enjoy it.
Finally, we took a souvenir photo, looked back at the results of our joint effort, and the day was over. Properly tired and feeling good, we went our separate ways to our homes.

Studio ALTA is a cultural centre, collective, and production platform. It nurtures creative ideas, responds to societal needs, and serves as a safe space for dreaming and realizing bold visions.
Founded in 2008 in Prague’s Holešovice district, it started as a venue for dance and physical theatre. Over time, its mission evolved into a multicultural centre and creative hub connecting artists, communities, and the public. After three years in Invalidovna, Studio ALTA moved in 2023 to its current home – the historic former Panský Brewery in Libeň.
Today, its programme features daring, innovative works that aim to inspire creativity, engagement, and meaningful dialogue around difference – a key value in any open and healthy society.
