CONTINUING THE RECONSTRUCTION AT STUDIO ALTA
Lend a hand to the ongoing transformation of the historic brewery in Libeň. This is a one day volunteering event where we will once again support Studio ALTA and continue the work we already started earlier this year. The original event planned for this date had to be postponed to autumn, and since Studio ALTA currently needs extra help, we arranged a quick return. This allows us to use the reserved date, welcome registered volunteers, and move the reconstruction forward. Want to see how the previous event looked? WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
We will join preparation and cleaning work as part of the ongoing reconstruction. We will clean walls and prepare spaces for further improvements. We will help carry materials and tidy up so the work can continue safely. Volunteers can also join simple construction tasks that do not require previous experience. The site may be dusty, protective equipment such as respirators and work gloves will be available. If dust is not comfortable for you, we will find alternative tasks in the garden or in less dusty areas.
You don’t need any previous experience or skills to join – this event is open to anyone who’s ready to lend a hand!
SUPPLEMENTARY PROGRAM
The day will not be only about work. We will explore hidden corners of the historic building and get a behind the scenes look at the cultural activities developing in the space. There will be shared refreshments and time to meet the Studio ALTA team. If you do not know the location yet, you will also be impressed by the nearby Velký mlýn, which hosts a cultural and creative center, one of the most beautiful city library branches, and a cozy café with homemade treats. Since we already visited earlier this year, you will also see how the space has evolved since our last visit.

Studio ALTA is a cultural centre, collective, and production platform. It nurtures creative ideas, responds to societal needs, and serves as a safe space for dreaming and realizing bold visions.
Founded in 2008 in Prague’s Holešovice district, it started as a venue for dance and physical theatre. Over time, its mission evolved into a multicultural centre and creative hub connecting artists, communities, and the public. After three years in Invalidovna, Studio ALTA moved in 2023 to its current home – the historic former Panský Brewery in Libeň.
Today, its programme features daring, innovative works that aim to inspire creativity, engagement, and meaningful dialogue around difference – a key value in any open and healthy society.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
MEETING POINT
We’ll meet on Saturday morning right in front of Studio ALTA. The nearest public transit stops are Palmovka (Metro B) or Libeňský zámek (tram). We’ll confirm the exact time a few days before the event. Before the event, we’ll create a WhatsApp group for group communication.
MEALS
We’ll provide snacks and a lunch. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know directly in the registration form.
WHAT TO BRING
- Work clothes suited for the weather (something you don’t mind getting dirty)
- Warm, preferably waterproof work shoes or boots
- Water bottle
RETURN
After the work is done and we’ve cleaned up the tools, we’ll wrap things up and head home in the late afternoon or early evening. The exact end time will be confirmed before the event.
