REVIVAL OF THE FARM, CRAFTS, AND LANDSCAPE
Lend a hand to save the cultural landscape and help start a great story! In October, we will head to Trstěnice near Litomyšl, where the Association of Archaic Enthusiasts is building a rural museum and saving folk architecture from extinction. The local landscape is not only a backdrop here, but also the main actor. Together, we will participate in the restoration of a place that will become an open center for crafts, agriculture, and learning about simple rural life in the future.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
During the weekend, we will be doing some intensive stretching in the fresh air. We will prepare the terrain for a future orchard and its fencing. We will remove self-sown trees, cut down old bushes, and help with other landscaping on the slope. We will also help prepare the foundations for the restoration of the access road and the fence wall that will protect the historic site.
You don’t need any previous experience or skills to join – this event is open to anyone who’s ready to lend a hand!
SUPPLEMENTARY PROGRAM
Weather permitting, we will set out on an educational trail through the local village, where you will learn about the stories of local people and buildings. In case of rain, we will enjoy screenings of documentaries about the association's activities, board games, and stories about life on the farm. In any case,
you will learn about a unique project – the Mikšík Farm, where people live in harmony with nature, traditional crafts, and customs.
You can also spice up your trip to the event by taking a walk through picturesque Litomyšl, which is just a stone's throw away from the venue.

Spolek archaických nadšenců is dedicated to preserving historical crafts, rural architecture, and the cultural landscape. Through practical projects, they revive the technologies of prehistoric and modern civilizations—from iron smelting and textile production to chapel construction and orchard restoration. On the grounds of the Mikšík farm, they are building a rural open-air museum that will present the everyday life of our ancestors in its raw and poetic form. Their motto is "We are bringing folk traditions, crafts, and the spirit of the place back to life." The association also organizes educational events for schools, the public, and children.
