Want to help but don’t have time for a whole weekend? Join our spring one-day volunteer event!
Experience volunteering firsthand in just one day! You don’t need to commit to an entire weekend—just a few hours, a willingness to help, and a positive attitude. We’ll meet at the Kotlaska community garden to support the RUBIKON Center team in their work. A meaningful day awaits you, filled with good company, hands-on work, and the chance to learn more about how the organization helps people with a criminal record start anew.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
We’ll be improving the garden and community space—taking care of flower beds, turning compost, and restoring the children’s sandbox. We’ll also be working on landscaping, building a pathway, and relocating a greenhouse. If you enjoy working with wood, you can help with the reconstruction of the woodshed and cutting firewood. Everyone can contribute in their own way—whether you prefer a shovel or a rake, there’s a task for you!
SUPPLEMENTARY PROGRAM
After the work is done, we’ll take a coffee break and learn more about how the RUBIKON Center helps people with a criminal record overcome challenges in rejoining society. One of the organization’s clients may even share their personal story. There will be time for questions, experience sharing, and open discussion.

RUBIKON Centrum helps people with a criminal record restart their lives and reintegrate successfully into society. Since 1994, it has been offering support in job searching, debt resolution, and responsible reintegration. Clients receive not only expert social counseling but also job opportunities and a new chance to live without fear of prejudice. RUBIKON Centrum also works with employers, providing ways to involve people with a criminal record in the workforce. Beyond direct assistance, the organization hosts educational courses and seminars for professionals and the public. One of its key projects is the Kotlaska community center and garden, a space dedicated to meetings, education, and personal development.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
MEETING POINT
We will meet in the morning at Palmovka. The exact time will be confirmed shortly before the event.
MEALS
Meals will be provided throughout the event. Any dietary restrictions should be discussed with the leader before the event.
WHAT TO BRING
- Warm work clothes suited for the weather (something you don’t mind getting dirty)
- Work gloves
- Warm, preferably waterproof work shoes or boots
- Water bottle
RETURN
We will depart in the late afternoon. The exact return time will be confirmed before the event.
