ORGANIZATION OF THE GARDEN FESTIVAL
Do you want to experience life in a community home and take part in preparing a traditional Garden Festival?
Join us at the end of August for a weekend at Villa Vallila in Červený Újezd. This community, comprising individuals with disabilities and their assistants, lives a shared life full of work, creativity, and involvement in local cultural events. Come explore their world, help prepare the festival, and enjoy a weekend in a welcoming atmosphere.
WHAT WE WILL DO
Before the festival, we will prepare the garden – cleaning the space, setting up stalls, and arranging waste bins. On the day of the event, we’ll assist with organizational tasks such as transporting goods, setting up and operating stalls, providing visitor information, washing dishes, and ensuring the smooth running of the festival. After the festival ends, on Sunday morning, we’ll clean up the garden and restore the space to its original state.
This event is open to everyone who is eager to lend a helping hand – no prior experience is required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM
Besides the work, we’ll enjoy the festival itself and gain insights into the lives of the local community. On Sunday, we can explore the surrounding area, with options like a nearby castle or monastery, depending on the weather and group interest.
Your help will ensure the festival runs smoothly and create a welcoming environment for visitors and community members alike.

L´Arche Villa Vallila, z.ú.
The organization strives to enable people with disabilities to live fulfilling lives in the natural conditions of a human community. To achieve this goal, they operate Villa Vallila, a community home located in Červený Újezd near Votice.
In 1997, the association purchased a dilapidated villa and transformed it into a community home where people with intellectual disabilities now live together with their assistants. Life in the community allows people with disabilities to become an integral part of society. They benefit from supported housing and social therapeutic workshops, where they develop work skills. Many of them are employed in regular jobs.
