RESTORATION OF THE PÁTEK CASTLE

Join us and explore the secrets of the Pátek Castle, located on the banks of the Ohře River near Louny. We will be welcomed by castellan Rasken, who has taken over the long dilapidated and forgotten castle and is lovingly and honestly restoring it to its original beauty with the help of volunteers. Built in the Renaissance style between 1544 and 1557 and later rebuilt in the Baroque style, the castle hides many stories.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO

We have all kinds of work to do - from cleaning the grounds and the Kravin Gallery, to glazing windows in the outbuildings, to building a small swimming pool. There will also be jobs for creative and skilled hands, such as modifying displays or making furniture from pallets. If rainy weather catches us, we will start cleaning the castle cellars.

You don't need any previous experience or skills to get involved - this event is open to anyone who is keen to put their hand to work!

ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME

The weekend event won't just be about work. We will explore the castle from cellar to attic and learn about its intricate history. Castellan Rasken will reveal his plans and visions, but also the legends and legends associated with the place. Sleeping in the castle itself will be a test of courage. Who knows, maybe the castle lady will visit us at night!

ADDRESS: Pátek 1, 439 08 Peruc-Pátek u Loun

Zámek Pátek - Městys Peruc

The Pátek Castle, located in the village of the same name on the banks of the Ohře River, is an important historical monument in the region. It was originally built in the middle of the 16th century by Jan the Younger of Lobkowitz as a summer palace and is one of the first Renaissance buildings in Bohemia. Later, towards the end of the 17th century, it underwent a Baroque reconstruction and was supplemented by a farm yard.

Today, the castle is owned by the local government and looked after by Rasken, a passionate employee of the municipality, who is a pleasure to meet. The castle is open to the public, offers guided tours and hosts various cultural events. There is an exhibition of paper models of castles and chateaus and a museum of the Hussite governor Alšík Škrpa. During the summer months, live musical performances are held here and various cultural events are held throughout the year.
