HELPING THE COMMUNITY RESTAURANT
Experience one Saturday differently and come volunteer with us in Pravy Hradec! Pravý Hradec is an inspiring place to get to know, or better... to experience. When you hear what the people behind the association have already accomplished, you'll believe that anything is possible! You can also take a romantic ferry and hiking trail to the right bank of the Vltava River.
We will also help the Plotna social enterprise, which is part of the Food Bank for Prague and the Central Bohemia Region and runs a community kitchen and canteen.
This event is perfect for anyone who wants to try volunteering or can't make the trip for the whole weekend.
WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO
The first part of the day will be spent in the backyard of the Plotna Restaurant, where we will help make improvements to the space to ensure that the restaurant can continue to serve its purpose effectively.
The second part of the day will be spent working in the garden in the former barracks area, which we will work together to improve. We will be doing tasks such as planting plants, maintaining the greenery and tidying up various corners. We will combine the pleasant with the useful - we will spend an afternoon in nature and in the fresh air and the garden will come alive thanks to us.
You don't need any previous experience or skills to get involved - this event is open to anyone who is keen to put their hand to work!
ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME
A volunteer event is not just about work. You will learn a lot of interesting information - for example, what it is like to start such a society "on the green field" or in this case in the premises of an abandoned barracks. You will learn how a community restaurant works and how to work with a food bank. In the evening, after work, we will sit around the campfire and roast some sausages together with the locals.

The Pravý Hradec association, founded in 2007, was inspired by important archaeological findings that prove the existence of a Slavic hillfort on the right bank of the Vltava River in Klecany. Its main mission is to create opportunities for people of all ages to meet and develop the local community. In its centre, Klicek provides a variety of programmes ranging from artistic to educational to sports activities, for both children and adults. In addition, it organizes camps, outings, anniversary celebrations and neighborhood gatherings that strengthen social ties.
The association also pays special attention to the elderly, for whom it has set up a community garden in a local nursing home. This is also open to young families, encouraging intergenerational interaction and time spent together in nature. Pravý Hradec is the centre of the world of leisure, entertainment and joy not only for the inhabitants of Klecany but also for the wider area.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
MEETING POINT
Meet at the horse paddock on Saturday morning, April 20. We will specify the time just before the event.
FOOD
Food will be provided throughout the event. Any dietary restrictions will be discussed with you by the leader prior to the event.
WHAT TO BRING
- Weather appropriate work clothes (such that you can get dirty),
- work gloves,
- warm, ideally waterproof work boots,
- a drinking bottle.
RETURN
We will leave for home in the afternoon. We will specify the end time before the event.
