HELPING THE COMMUNITY RESTAURANT

One Saturday in April, 9 volunteers came together to help the organization Pravý Hradec.
"In total, we worked approximately 63 hours. What did we do? The day started with hoeing trees and delivering wood chips, then we got to work on the flower beds. We were also busy raking leaves and clearing away dead trees. We tidied up the stables, moved equipment and sorted out unwanted items for removal. What about hay and manure? We had fun with that too and hauled it to the compost pile.
Zdena, the representative of the non-profit organization, told us about all the activities that the association does, and that there are many!
Instead of a bonfire, this time the worse weather drove us home, but the good feeling will keep us warm for a long time!
It was a great day and we did a nice job. Thanks to all the volunteers for their help and to Zdenna for the lovely welcome."

The Pravý Hradec association, founded in 2007, was inspired by important archaeological findings that prove the existence of a Slavic hillfort on the right bank of the Vltava River in Klecany. Its main mission is to create opportunities for people of all ages to meet and develop the local community. In its centre, Klicek provides a variety of programmes ranging from artistic to educational to sports activities, for both children and adults. In addition, it organizes camps, outings, anniversary celebrations and neighborhood gatherings that strengthen social ties.
The association also pays special attention to the elderly, for whom it has set up a community garden in a local nursing home. This is also open to young families, encouraging intergenerational interaction and time spent together in nature. Pravý Hradec is the centre of the world of leisure, entertainment and joy not only for the inhabitants of Klecany but also for the wider area.
