PARK AND ORNAMENTAL GARDEN IMPROVEMENT

Come with us to an event full of work and fun for the benefit of the castle in Veselí nad Úhlavou! Veselí Fortress opens the gates to its heart and invites you to help restore and revive this historic place.

Your help will contribute to making Veselí nad Úhlavou Castle a centre of cultural life.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO

Our goal will be to improve the park and the ornamental garden so that they are open to the public and can serve as a venue for cultural and social events. We will work on repairing the stone wall and, in case of rainy weather, we will move inside the castle where we will clean it and do other necessary work.

You don't need any previous experience or skills to get involved - this event is open to anyone who is willing to put their hand to work!

ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME

During the event you will learn about the rich history of the castle and the plans for its restoration. We will visit some of the interesting places in the area, which will bring you closer to the cultural richness of the region. In the evening, we will enjoy sitting around the campfire and sharing experiences and interesting stories.

The association was founded for the purpose of restoring the castle in Veselí nad Úhlavou near Klatovy, making it accessible to the public and using it for cultural, social and educational purposes. The first mention of this monument dates back to 1404, when Jan of Veselí had a water fortress built on the site of today's castle. In the 19th century, the fortress was converted into a chateau. It is now in a state of disrepair and volunteers from all over the world are helping to preserve this ancient jewel.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodation will not be at the venue of the event, but in the nearby village of Pocinovice, from where we will travel to the castle by car or train. We will send you the exact address by e-mail. We will sleep on mattresses in our own sleeping bag. However, adventurous people can also spend the night at the castle and thus have a truly extraordinary experience.

MEETING POINT

We will meet on Friday evening , October 5, in the village of Pocinovice. We will specify the time just before the event.

CATERING

Vegetarian food will be provided throughout the event, except for Friday dinner, we will bring our own. Any dietary restrictions will be discussed with you by the leader before the event.
